Our Story & Mission
David and Chas have been best friends since childhood in Stillwater, Minnesota. They grew up dreaming about food together — what they'd cook, who they'd feed, and the smiles it would bring.
David has Down syndrome, and he always dreamed of being a food truck chef. Today, he is one. David is the culinary heart and the face of Greater Tater — the reason every Tater Keg comes out golden, crispy, and stuffed with care.
“I have Down syndrome, and I want people to know me — it's what's inside of me that really counts.
Greater Tater was founded in 2024 by John & Sheryl Lecy, but the whole family is part of the story — from prepping fillings to working the window at fairs across the east metro.
Our mission is simple: great food and meaningful jobs for people of all abilities — a place where everyone belongs.
